The Bergamo-based SIAD Group (Società Italiana Acetilene e Derivati) and OICCE (Interprofessional Organisation for the Communication of Knowledge in Oenology – Canelli) set up the fourth edition of the International Prize dedicated to promoting research for the innovation of technical gases in viticulture and oenology.
The initiative is aimed at university researchers, technicians, students, companies and consortia able to develop new solutions in the application of gases, encompassing the entire process, from working in the vineyard to the final moments in the winery.
Prizes will be awarded for the best research projects involving the use of industrial gases (such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide, argon, oxygen) and enabling an improvement in wine quality and production processes. The jury will assess the projects on the basis of their level of originality and novelty, environmental sustainability, improvement of wine quality and production processes, expected benefit/cost ratio, time and cost of completion and applicability on an industrial scale. The Prize will be awarded in the semester following the deadline for submissions: the winner will receive a SIAD recognition medal and €6,000 total cash prize..
Applications must reach the Chair of the Committee by e-mail to submission_siadprize@siad.eu no later than 28 February 2023.
