The event, held at the Fiera di Parma from 24 to 27 October, in which the SIAD Group participated by bringing its know-how in the food & beverage field, attracted the world’s most important players to discuss the new trends and future scenarios of a supply chain that, in 2022 alone and for Made in Italy alone, will reach an export quota of over 8 billion euros (+24.2% compared to 2012).

Future scenarios are also positive: it is estimated that 2023 will close with an export value of around 8.8 billion (+10% over 2022), a number also supported by the first half of 2023, which, compared to the same period in 2022, was +16.4%.

In this context, there is also the drive of companies to grow steadily on the supply side, offering the most sophisticated applications for agribusiness.

Stage of excellence for innovative solutions

The 53rd edition of Cibus Tec saw the participation of over 1,200 companies from over 30 countries, finding a stage of excellence to present their cutting-edge solutions to over 40,000 food & beverage professionals.

This event is of enormous significance for the players of the food industry,- emphasises Rhoman Rossi, Marketing project manager of the SIAD Group, especially for companies determined to innovate their processes by adopting the most advanced technologies available on the market today. At this time, the solutions that stand out in particular are dimonstrate the beneficial role of gases for the entire food chain. The properties of CO2, nitrogen as well as argon and oxygen prove to be highly functional in optimising processes, enhancing the quality of excellence and reducing waste and pollutant emissions for those in agribusiness. The benefits of using gases in the food chain, as well as in beverages, are tangible: process efficiencies resulting in increased production volumesgreater territorial extension and distribution capacity. But above all, gases and mixtures make it possible to produce foods that are able to retain all their organoleptic and nutritional properties intact for longer‘.

Food packaging, live demonstrations

Present at the Pavilion dedicated to packaging and intralogistics, SIAD also participated at Cibus Tec as a technical sponsor to ensure the supply of gases to exhibitors.

With other manufacturers and analysers, he gave live demonstrations of the food packaging supply chain during the four-day event, in particular, bringing Foodline, the innovative line of gases and solutions to increase the shelf life of food.

More generally, – adds Rhoman Rossi – meeting with specialised companies, we presented the many uses of gases, either singly or in mixtures, in production processes, from food packaging to freezing, from carbonic fertilisation to beverage carbonation, through the cryo-cleaning and the cryomacination. Of particular value, too, is the function they can play at maintaining the cold chain and in refrigerated transport“. SIAD’s offer in the food and beverage industry covers every step of the chain, from production to marketing. “To understand this complex chain – concludes Rossi – we have realised adedicated infographic in which you can check all the steps we can take, starting from the management of raw materialsunderstood as a primary moment in the food production process, up to and including to the efficiency of the point of saleparticularly looking at the Ho.Re.Ca. world. and the large-scale retail trade, passing through all industrial stages: processing, preservation, packaging and distribution’.
